We played Saxon Rovers on Saturday and won 3 – 0. We were by far the stronger team and I think that approx 90% of the game was played in the immediate area around the opposition’s goal. Saxon Rovers had seemingly brought an invisible magnetic shield and installed it around their goal though, because no matter what we did, the ball just would not hit the back of the net.
Even though we eventually won comfortably, this must count as our most frustrating game yet. I lost count, suspect that we had well over 30 attempts at goal, with most missing or hitting the uprights or being shot over.
Luckily, Luca finally found the target twice and saved the supporters from pulling out their hair on the sideline. Fittingly, Luke scored in the final second of his final game for our team. He departs for England next week. We wish Luke, his dad Wolf and their family all the best. We are going to miss you Luke!
The rest of us play Bothasig U9B away next weekend. Have a great week.
